The City of Sanford is renovating City Hall to better serve our residents and customers!
The first-floor lobby, breezeway, and parking are being updated using the Building Fund, which is designated only for the needs of the Building Department (per Florida Statute F.S. 553.80). Permitting services, along with Business Tax and Utilities customer service, are moving to the first floor and will be “forward-facing” in the lobby for added convenience.
The Building Fund is a special fund that tracks money collected from building permits and fees. This money can only be used to enforce the Florida Building Code, inspect construction, and keep buildings safe—not for other city expenses.
Think of it like a budget with one specific purpose: keeping construction safe and up to code.
Stay tuned for the grand opening!
